Phil Bradley is a basketmaker and willow grower living and working in Deanscales near Cockermouth in Cumbria. He grows 38 varieties of willow in his 7 willow beds without any reliance on artificial herbicide and pesticide. He has been learning and practicing the various techniques of different provincial traditions for over 20 years. He grows, weaves, sells and educates about willow within the local region. He is an accidental advocate of slow-lifestyles, low-impact living, appropriate technology, beauty in function, and attending to the small things of life with mindfulness.
